Zoo Days

Since we were living right by the zoo this summer we took full advantage of our pass and averaged going once or twice a week. What can we say..we love the zoo!!
The nasty lion drinking fountains that have been there since I was a kid and probably never been cleaned. And yes - this is me letting Jax drink out of it! I can't help it - he loves it!!

Spudman

A couple weeks ago, we went up to Burley, ID for the Spudman Triathlon. Cole did it last year and this year, Mike and Shantel Lunt rode up with us. Cole, Mike and Bry & Caroline Prince all did it this year. It was fun to see so many people competing and having a good time. Cole did great despite taking a nasty spill on his bike and separating his shoulder. He was about half way into the bike and got caught in a big group of about 30 riders. A few people in front him started to skid and fall. Then, the guy right in front of him fell and Cole hit his back tire and flipped over on his bike. Luckily his bike was still operable so he could get back on. His shoulder was torn up and he could tell it didn't feel right. He mentioned that a few people looked like they were in pretty bad shape. While he was pretty upset about it, it could have been a lot worse. He finished in 2:29...still a great time despite a fall. Everyone finished without incident and had a great time. We'll miss going up there next year!

Coming into the bike to run transition...I knew something was wrong when I saw Cole riding in only using one arm. Love my accident-prone husband. :)

Start of the run. Really?...still 6.2 miles to go?
I made him smile for me...he still wasn't happy about his bike mishap. :)

Mike, Cole, Bry & Care after the race. Good work guys!
I think the road won this battle...
