Concord

As for a baby update I am 2 days over due - YIKES!!! I don't think any woman should ever have to say they are 40 plus weeks. I assumed with Jaxon coming on his due date that this one would for sure come on time if not early....um wrong. I have a doctor's appointment in the morning, so hopefully we will have an end date soon. The doctors here don't like to induce labor, but I'm thinking this needs to happen soon!!! Cole has had the past week off for spring break so today we went to Concord and visited Minute Man National Historical Park and the Old North Bridge which commemorates the opening battle (first colonist opposition) in the American Revolutionary War. It was fun to see some of the historical sites around Boston. We had a crazy rain storm this past weekend and in 72 hours we received 5 inches of rain and there were a lot of rivers that flooded. As you can see from our pictures Concord got hit pretty hard.

This is a picture of the Old North Bridge today - it is mostly under water.
This is what it should look like
There should be a narrow river flowing under the bridge not a lake - it is crazy how much water we got so quickly.
Here is the path that should take us around to see the bridge

Boston Children's Museum

My neighbor, Heidi, and I took the kids to the Boston Children's Museum today. The kids had so much fun and wore themselves out.
Jax and Maddy - this was the best picture I could get of the two of them.
They have a Curious George exhibit going on right now that Jaxon loved. He loves watching the "mimi show."He loved the water exhibit. He wouldn't let me put one of the waterproof aprons on him, so you can imagine how wet he was by the time we left. I think he spent at least an hour in here. Once his shirt, pants, and shoes were all soaked we decided to go - good thing it was a nice day.
Another hour was spent playing with these "choo choos." He is obsessed with trains right now. Any time we leave our house he goes and gets his bag and packs up at least 5 trains to take with us.

Pre-school Birthday Celebration

Jaxon's pre-school class celebrated his birthday today. I was asked to bring his favorite book, treat, and picture. He had so much fun decorating & eating his own cookies and of course blowing out his candles.

I love how focused he gets while painting.

Jaxon's 2nd Birthday

We had a few of Jaxon's friends over Sunday night to celebrate his birthday a few days early. It was so entertaining to watch him while we sang Happy Birthday. He was so excited!!
My cute and ever so talented neighbor Alicia came over and helped me decorate the cake. Jaxon has been obsessed the past couple months with trains or "choo choos", so I was so excited when another friend on campus, Jen, had the train cake molds. I think it turned out so cute.

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a fun Crimson Kids Valentine's party this morning. Jaxon helped me make his Valentine's earlier this week. I got this idea from my friend Chelsea's blog. They are mini match boxes covered in paper with a little ribbon. They are the perfect size for a little kid and a fun treasure box too. Jaxon kept wanting to open all of them once we were finished - they were mini presents to him. He kept holding them up to me saying "open, open" - I finally had to start hiding them after having to re-tie the ribbon on a few. He had so much fun handing them out to all the kids.
They had so many fun things for the kids to do - cookie decorating, Valentine's crafts, stamp "wall art", face painting, snacks, and a toy car race track. Jaxon especially loved the cookie decorating and stamp wall.
We had a yummy dinner last night at the Cheesecake Factory. It is fun to have so many close by and to be able to show up at 6:00pm on a Friday night and get right in.
