Spring Formal

We had our end of the year formal tonight. I can't believe in a couple weeks Cole will be done with school. It makes me so sad to think we will all be moving soon. We have absolutely loved our experience at HBS and have made many life long friends. It was fun to have one last night to get get dressed up and hang out with everyone.
The dance was held at the Boston Public Library - which was such an incredible building located downtown.

Happy 1st Birthday Grant!!!

It is amazing how quickly this past year has gone by. I really cannot believe my baby Grant turned one today. There is nothing like that first year - it has been so much fun watching him grow. I have also loved watching his relationship develop with Jaxon. They have become pretty good buddies.
Things he loves right now:
Taking anything Jaxon is playing with and running as fast as he can into the corner to try and get away, unloading drawers; cupboards, the refrigerator, basically anything that is left open; he recently discovered his jelly cat puppy dog and loves to sleep with him; cuddling; escaping from our house - any time the front door opens he wants out - it's as if he lives in a jail cell; sitting in the stroller - he will come point to it in the closet and just sit in it - even if we aren't going anywhere; he LOVES balls - any time he sees one he gets so excited "ba ba ba"; and recently has become a big fan of Daddy - which has been amazing.
This past year he has definitely been a Momma's boy, which I have loved, but it has made it really hard to leave him with anyone. He has so much personality and has brought so much joy to our family.
We had a little get together in the study room with some friends to celebrate his big day.

He barely touched his cake. He poked his finger in it a couple times and then wanted to get out of his high chair. I was expecting him to attack it, but he really didn't want anything to do with it.
Cole helped me with the cake - he drew the monkey and added his special touch with the whopper eyes and oreo ears. We were both pretty excited with how it turned out.
These pictures crack me up. Basically Jaxon thought it was his birthday and decided he would "help" Grant open all his presents. This remote control train is what Jaxon had picked out to give to Grant, but later confessed that it was really for him. Luckily, Grant didn't seem to mind and enjoyed watching Jaxon.

St. Kitts

For Spring Break we headed south with great friends to enjoy some warmer weather on the island of St. Kitts. We had such a fun trip and wonderful weather. It was the perfect break from the cold winter weather we have been enduring the past few months.
Grant loved swimming. Each day it would take him an hour or so to warm up to the idea of getting in the water, but once he was in he loved it.
Jaxon loved the beach. His favorite thing was to build sand castles just like "mimi" or Curious George. He watched an episode where George went to the beach and built sand castles so the entire trip he kept saying he was just like "mimi." Grant on the other hand didn't want anything to do with the beach. He didn't like the sand on his feet or hands and especially didn't enjoy the water. Luckily, he did enjoy the pool, so Cole would go with Jaxon to the beach and I would spend my time with Grant in the pool.
Here is our group with all six families.
Sorenson's, Welch's, both Archibald's, and Harrison's.
Tuesday morning Scott, Cameron, Chris, and Cole went golfing on this gorgeous course. According to the boys, the course got the better of them, but they still had a great time.
We also went zip lining with the Harrison's and Archibald's. Here we are going up the mountain.
The views from the top were incredible.
The zip lining course sits on an old sugar plantation from the 1800's.
Enjoying a kid-free relaxing dinner at Blu Seafood Restaurant
Jaxon loved looking at this "pirate ship." It is really a half scale replica of the Nina, but to him a pirate ship was much cooler.Porter, Claire, Rowan, and Jaxon
We used a hand towel so he could wrap his towel around him just like Dad.
