Happy Halloween

We had a fun Halloween!! On Friday Jaxon went trick-or-treating in Dad's classroom. It was a little overwhelming to have 90 people handing out candy, but we are well stocked on our candy now.
In preschool on Thursday all the kids dressed up in their costumes
Egemen - Batman
Grace - Raggedy Ann
Omar - was Nemo, but didn't want to keep it on very long
We had a fun Crimson Kids dinner early that evening on campus - then from there we all headed to Beacon Hill.
The Archibald's
Outside of the party playing with his friends
Sheldon, Maddy, and Jax
These three are together every day and play so well. It has been great living next door to them both.
We took the T to Beacon Hill - it was Jaxon's first ride on a subway. He was a little hesitant to get on with all the people on there, but once it started going he loved it.
The Province Family - Jax fit right in with them. Wing was easy to spot all night. I also loved hearing kids from every where say "There is the man in the yellow hat." Some even wanted to take pictures with him. His costume was great, but he really does look just like him.
Beacon Hill
This is such a magical neighborhood. It seems that everyone that trick or treats in Boston comes here. They block off all the streets and everyone sits on their porches with candy.
All the porches were so cutely decorated.

Visitors

Brooke and Chad came to visit last week. We had so much fun with them. We love having visitors!!!
Dinner at Mr. Bartley's - this is a yummy burger restaurant in Cambridge.
On Tuesday we took a trip to Salem and visited the House of Seven Gables. It was built in 1668, and is the oldest surviving 17th century wooden mansion in New England. Nathaniel Hawthorne was inspired by the mansion and wrote his legendary novel after it.
The view from the property is so pretty.
On Friday we took a trip to Connecticut to visit our friend Kari and her 5 day old baby boy.
Bobby Harrington came in town this weekend. It has been so much fun to visit with old friends.

Preschool

Jaxon started preschool today. They usually don't start until they turn two, but since there were five kids his age they decided to do a younger group. He meets twice a week for an hour and a half, and it is held in the bottom of our building.

He refused to wear his backpack (probably since it was the same size as him), but loved dragging it. He got mad at me when I tried to pick it up for him. He loves it!

Head of the Charles

The "Head of the Charles" was this weekend. It is a rowing race held on the Charles River. It is the largest 2-day boat race in the world, with more than 8,000 athletes rowing in around 1750 boats in 56 events. We had fun walking around checking out all the different vendors and watching a few races. It was fun to have so much entertainment in our backyard.
The ice cream kept Jaxon entertained for hours

More Apple Picking

We decided to go apple picking again this Saturday with Cole's school section. With the leaves beginning to turn our drive out to the orchard was beautiful.
Jax was excited to see all the apples that had fallen off the tree - he thought they were all balls.
One for each hand. He couldn't get enough!
He kept following this dog around trying to feed him.
Jaxon's buddy Yasha
They had so much fun pushing these cartons
We were able to get our own little private tour of the apple cider plant
With all our apples we had to come home and make our favorite apple pie caramel apples!! Yum!
