4 Months

Grant had his 4 month check-up today. He is 25.5 inches, weighing 16lbs 7 oz, and his head is 43 centimeters - which puts him at the 75th percentile in all three categories. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up. He keeps getting more and more fun each day. My favorite thing is to watch Jaxon make him laugh. It is so much fun to listen to the two of them giggle. Lately, Jaxon won't get in the bath tub unless Grant gets in with him. He also always wants Grant to sit by him while he watches his shows. And occasionally he will share his trains with him...occasionally. :)
Oh and Grant's eyes are still blue....still can't figure out where they come from.
He is constantly drooling these days...love the teething stage.

Mississippi River

Sunday evening we took a nice walk across the old man river. It originates in Minnesota a little ways north of here at Lake Itasca.
Still not sure where the blue eyes come from - I keep thinking they will change, but who knows maybe they'll stay.

Twins Game

Saturday evening we headed to a Twins game.
Target Field is located in downtown Minneapolis and has such a great view.
Grant did great at his first baseball game, but couldn't quite make it until the end.
Minutes after the game ended a crazy storm came in. The winds picked up to 50 mph and threw debris all over the stadium. We were asked to stay along the corridors and under cover because about 10 miles north of the stadium a 3/4 mile-long tornado was touching down. It was pretty crazy!
Here we are waiting for the storm to pass.

Mall Of America

My Mom and brother, Jeremy, got in town today. First stop....Mall Of America!!!The Lego store was pretty impressive

4th of July Weekend

We had a fun forth of July weekend. Grandpa VandenAkker had meetings in Minneapolis so it was fun to hang out with him Thursday evening.
On Saturday, Cole participated in the Minneman Triathlon at Lake George Regional Park in Oak Grove. He did such a great job finishing in 1:20. I was so happy to see him finish in one piece...no separated shoulder or other injuries. :)

Shiner

Cole and I went to his company's dinner party tonight at the Guthrie Theater. While we were there, Jaxon had his first run-in with a baseball bat. He was playing with some friends and walked into a swing by a little three year old. It was bound to happen sooner or later. We were just glad it wasn't any worse. It makes for a nice shiner.
Day 2
Here we are at the Guthrie. It had a great view of the Mississippi.
