Zoo

Our trip to Utah wouldn't be complete without a day spent at the zoo. Jaxon had so much fun with his cousin Chase.

Grandpa Nakker's 90th Birthday

One of the major reasons we came to Salt Lake right after finishing at General Mills was to celebrate Cole's Grandpa's 90th birthday. Aside from the annual golf tournament Cole's family does every year, for his 90th birthday, Cole's Grandpa wanted to go fishing in the Uinta Mountains. They planned on just going to a lake off the highway, but Grandpa insisted on hiking in "a mile or so". So, they hiked in a mile and had a great time. How many 90 year-olds hike a mile into the Uintas to fish on their birthday?!

Grandpa Nakker having a great time

Cole's extended family threw a surprise party for Grandpa Nakker at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was a great event. Every year, one of the siblings is in charge of planning the annual golf tournament. It was Joel's (Cole's Dad) turn to plan it this year. As part of the tournament, he surprised everyone with these cool 'V' hats that said "BLV - 90" on the back to commemorate Grandpa Nakker's 90th birthday and the 30th annual golf tourney.

The "Special Permit" card is just for show. He still plays twice a week in St. George and had a great round of 18 with the whole family on Saturday.

The forecast called for rain, and while it rained for a little bit before they tee'd off, it passed quickly and the golfers had a gorgeous round.

Utah!!!

We went from Minneapolis to Boston to Utah. The boys and I got back to Boston Friday morning and Cole arrived with our car Saturday afternoon. We quickly unloaded everything and left for Utah on Sunday. We had such a fun trip. Cole was able to spend a week with us and then I stayed for an additional two weeks. It was great spending time with our families and friends.

General Mills

Our last day in Minneapolis we met Cole at his office. It was fun to have a little tour of General Mills, and see where Cole had been spending a good chunk of his time this summer.

Last few days in MN

We had a great summer in Minneapolis. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. The summer weather here is perfect. I am really going to miss the friends we have made. Jaxon has especially loved having so many kids around his age. Cole enjoyed working for General Mills, so I guess there is always a chance we will be back after school. But for now we are excited to head back to Boston.

These two are only a week or two apart - it has been fun to see how much they have grown these past few months.

This picture cracks me up. It looks they are about to kiss.
Grant has changed so much since we have been here. He recently started sitting up and his two bottom teeth cut through.
Ready for Boston!

Elm Creek Pond

Today we went to Elm Creek Pond with the Kunz family. It is a man-made chlorinated swimming pond. It is a perfect place for young kids, with the sandy beach and shallow water. Jaxon had so much fun.

4 Months

Grant had his 4 month check-up today. He is 25.5 inches, weighing 16lbs 7 oz, and his head is 43 centimeters - which puts him at the 75th percentile in all three categories. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up. He keeps getting more and more fun each day. My favorite thing is to watch Jaxon make him laugh. It is so much fun to listen to the two of them giggle. Lately, Jaxon won't get in the bath tub unless Grant gets in with him. He also always wants Grant to sit by him while he watches his shows. And occasionally he will share his trains with him...occasionally. :)
Oh and Grant's eyes are still blue....still can't figure out where they come from.
He is constantly drooling these days...love the teething stage.
